A record number of 1 210 Sauvignon wines across the globe competed for the highly coveted Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2023 medals. Fifty international judges awarded silver and gold medals to wines from 20 countries and South Africa ratified its ranking as a major Sauvignon Blanc producer country, winning 56 medals – 26 gold medals and 30 silver medals.
The good news is that you can taste ten of the award winning South African Sauvignon Blancs. Our SOLEIL Société Club tasting kit includes five Gold and five Silver Award winners.

Did you know that South Africa is the only country in the world that can accurately pinpoint the exact date of origin of its wine industry, due to an entry in Jan van Riebeeck's diary on 2 February 1659 where he wrote: “Today, praise be to God, wine was pressed for the first time from Cape grapes."
